WCSA conducts several different types of shooting style events. These include:

Target: The more familiar type of competition event where a 60cm target face is placed up to 65m from the shooter and up to 90 bolts as shot.

Target Match Play: Shot at the target venue but the shooter is shooting against a direct competitor. The winner progressing to the next round.

Indoor: Similar to Target but with 30 bolts being shot into a 40cm face usually over an 18m distance. The event is conducted indoors.

Forest: Shot usually in a forest environment where 24 targets are laid out on a course (similar to golf). Each competitor shoots 2 bolts at each target before scoring and moving to the next target.

3D: Similar to Forest but using life size 3-demensional models of various types of game.
